Well, it's 100+ degrees here and I am seeing a lot of Spring and even Summer plants drying up. I have been trying to do a mad dash of wild crafting, getting what I can, while I can before it's gone until next year. However, it is very hard to anticipate the exact need so I am hoping I have enough of certain things. On a positive note....I did finally find St. John's Wort this weekend. Be on the look out for where that might end up in the shop this Fall:) Speaking of the shop; I still have many items pending processing by Facebook. It has been that way for several days now and I have contacted Facebook regarding the issue.
This past weekend I got to do some wild crafting around Lake Jacomo and areas along the Little Blue River. And, may I add, that the ticks are just horrible this year. It's got me thinking that I may do some research this Fall and Winter on the perfect ingredients to add to a repellent spray. The ones I have been using haven't been cutting it and I hate the way I feel so greasy and the dirt just sticks to my legs.
I love when I am able to take my whole family on these plant finding trips. Sure, they goof off a lot (as you can see in the some of the photos) but its great family time and good exercise for all of us. My youngest has lots of fun with thinking he is on some kind of scavenger hunt. Plus, we were able to stock back up on Vervain, Nettles and Japanese Honeysuckle. Blessed Be!
