It’s been a VERY busy month here at Cynnamon Charmed. I suspect the next month will continue being busy….which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Just like with all of you the holidays bring lots of activities with family, friends and the kids school events. In addition, this is an important time for Cynnamon Charmed.
Being our first year in business, every season challenges me to bring appropriate products that you all will love. I know some of these products will carry over to next year and so I won’t be starting from scratch but that is exactly what I am doing this year…..starting from scratch. An increase in sales got me behind on voodoo doll/poppet production but that is a nice problem to have. After making a significant amount more Fall wreaths then I needed, I cut back for Yule and in doing that, I sold out last week. I do not have time to get more done and posted for this year but this is good information moving forward for next year.
I have really started focusing more on packaging of the items we ship without raising costs. I think our customers will like this new practice. We received our first two product reviews this month and I am very happy for that. I love to hear from our customers.
One of the new products I was super excited about this month was our resin jewelry. This has been a true learning experience and the 12 pieces in the shop right now couldn’t possibly tell the full story of the hours involved with trial and error in learning this new craft. In addition to the resin, I have begun doing some wire wrapping on our pieces which is fantastically harder than it looks. However, we are learning a new skill, and are proud at the progress we have made and we are incredibly excited to have found another way for our customers to enjoy our herbal blends.
We have sold out of Hemlock for the year. Because we harvest most all of our herbs, this can’t be brought back until I am able to harvest some next Spring. There are other herbs we are running low on but all this is really great news. Beginning this business, we had no idea what would be popular, how much we needed on hand, or what no one would want. This year is a real study of what we need to focus on collecting more of , make more of for next year’s sabbats, and what our customers like. What I didn’t want was to go overboard harvesting and have a huge abundance that didn’t sell over the Fall and Winter. I want our products to remain as fresh as possible and that means collecting what we need to get through until the next harvest season.
Currently we are running a 10% off EVERYTHING sale in the shop. This will be over on Dec. 2 and will likely not return for a while. In about 2 weeks we will be wrapping up our Yule Herbal Blend giveaway. These have proved to be great ways to reach new followers and get people involved on the Cynnamon Charmed Facebook page.
I have begun writing reviews as a contributor for Facing North, a website dedicated to unbiased reviews of occult, spiritual, and metaphysical books and tools. Links to my reviews can be found here in Charmed Daily as well as on the Facing North website. My first two have already been published with many more to come.
Once again I want to thank all of our customers and our followers for a wonderful start to this business. Your feedback, encouraging words, and support make Cynnamon Charmed possible. If you have any ideas, requests, questions, or feedback feel free to email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
